New residents must have their pets vaccinated immediately.

 

Dogs:  Dogs older than 4 months must be licensed and vaccinated for rabies annually.  The License fee for a neutered or spayed dog is $3.00.  The fee for a non-altered dog is $5.00.
 
Leash Law:  There is a county wide leash law.
 
Barking:  There is a county wide barking ordinance.
 
Ferrets:  Ferrets must be immunized for rabies annually but do not require a license at this time.
 
Cats:  Cats older than 4 months must be immunized for rabies annually but do not require a license at this time.
 
The full ordinance will soon be available online.
 
License and vaccinations can be obtained at the Mercer County Humane Society, from the animal control officer and local veterinarians.
