There is plenty to do in and around Harrodsburg.
Here are but a few of the opportunities.

 

  • Anderson-Dean Community Park  A plethora of outdoor activates abound at this first class community facility.  Softball, soccer, baseball, disc golf, walking trails and a Aquatic Facility are among the attractions at the park.   • Brightleaf Golf Resort is a family owned 27 hole championship golf course with an additional 9 hole lighted par 3 course.  The facility offers full accommodations with motel rooms, villas, full service dining room, snack bar, pro shop and a fully equipped health club and pool. www.brightleafgolfresort.com
     

  • Eddie Montgomery's Steakhouse a 20,000 square foot restaurant and entertainment facility, is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2009. It will be located in Skylar's Landing, a 38.5-acre development, in southern Harrodsburg.

  • Fort Harrod State Park is a reconstruction of the first permanent settlement west of the Alleghenies.  Costumed crafts people perform everyday pioneer tasks.  http://parks.ky.gov/findparks/recparks/fh/
     

  • Mercer County Fair and horse show has been held since 1828 and is the oldest fair and horse show in Kentucky. The fairgrounds is a busy place year round with horse shows, concerts, pageants, the Fort Harrod Beef Festival and many other events.

  • Twin Hills Drive-in Theater is one of only 12 remaining drive-ins in Kentucky.  The Twin Hills complex re-opened for the 2006 summer season and has been growing in popularity ever since.  During the Drive-in heyday there were 116 screens open in Kentucky.
